Will Apple give in to Chinese superstition when naming the 2021 iPhone line?

Why did Apple jump from the iPhone 8 to the iPhone 10? Was it due to the fear of the number 9 in China? And will it lead Apple to use the iPhone 12s moniker for the 2021 series?
